Koh Phangan Malibu Beach

Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan is the largest of Samui’s neighbouring islands, with an area of 168 sq km. The island has numerous heavenly white sand beaches and secluded bays all along its coastline, some of them reachable only by a boat cruise. Over three quarters of the island is mountainous tropical forest. Much of the island is classified as “National Park” by Thailand’s government, allowing the island to keep its natural and untamed character. Nearby Koh Ma has the best Koh Phangan-area snorkeling.

Koh Tao Thailand

Koh Tao & NangYuan

Ko Tao is also known as the turtle island as its shape resembles one. Ko Tao´s little sister island, Ko Nangyuan, is a private island that consists of three smaller islands connected together by a beautiful sandbank. Together, these locations form three bays with crystal-clear water and no current, white sandy beaches, a variety of colorful fish and fascinating coral reefs that offer optimal conditions for snorkeling.

Emerald Lagoon Angthong Marine Park

Angthong Marine Park

Angthong National Marine Park translates as ‘golden bowl’, occupies almost 250 sq. km and includes 50 sq. km of protected nature area consisting of over 40 islands. All of the islands are uninhabited and undeveloped except for one. This island, Koh Paluay, is inhabited by “sea-gypsies” who still earn a living from fishing. The islands resemble Koh Samui 40 years ago, prior to the arrival of tourism and modern infrastructure. The Marine Park is famous for its natural beauty untouched by development.

Long Tail Boat on Koh Madsum

Koh Tan & Madsum

These are two small neighboring islands which are located approx. five Kilometers west from Koh Samui’s quiet Southern fishing bays. Koh Tan or “Coral Island” is a primitive island with a small pristine village. The island is surrounded by coral reefs along the white sandy beaches that both snorkelers and sun bathing lovers can join together. This is a perfect place to visit as an alternative to a full day trip as it is so close to Samui but offers all the same exciting activities as many of the other destinations located hours away.
